An ongoing photo project, residency and conversation in partnership with photographer Andrea Gentl focused on the documention of and discussion with with notable women entrepreneurs, community leaders, and artists of Oaxaca
The Las Mujeres Fuertes project works to continue the effort of creating an international community of strong women that is focused on supporting international women’s rights, health, and education, and to create a time and space for conversation and connection within this community.
The 5 day Mujeres residency in April 2017 was an opportunity to celebrate and learn from a remarkable group of Oaxaca based women through story-telling, education and thoughtful discussion, as well as a time for intentional conversation and reflection within a group of fellow women participants.
In partnership with Pastora Guiterez of Nueva Vida, the first women’s Weaving Collective of Teotitlan, Graciela Angeles Carreño, mezcalera and Director of Real Minero mezcal, Ana Paula Fuentes, founding director of the Museo Textil de Oaxaca, Susanna Trilling, chef, teacher and founder of Seasons of My Heart cooking school, Salime Harp Cruces, Industrial Engineer and founder of Xaquixe Glass Studio, Paulina Garcia, Co-founder of Suculenta and co-owner of Boulenc, Dona Aurora Toledo, founder and chef of Zandunga restauarant.
