Program Details

Forthcoming Program Dates:

5 week sessions from September 2023 - April 2024

Fellowship Provides:

  • Residency participation (meals, events, access to the house and program activities)

  • Housing in NECIA’s resident apartment for the duration of the residency. (Please note that this apartment is located in the NECIA movement space which is separate from the Pocoapoco residency house!)

  • Access to studio space

  • Half-board (daily breakfast and meals 3 x /week) 

  • Airport pick-up if needed

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a performance or movement based practice.

  • Applicants must be Latin American

  • Accepted residents must offer one public weeklong workshop during their time at the residence

  • Accepted residents must put on one public performance at the residence during their stay.  (This performance happens in the Pocoapoco residency house. Artists are welcome to intervene the shared spaces of the house. )

  • Please note: production costs are not covered although we provide access to lightning and sound equipment  

Additional Program Notes:

  • Applications / proposals must include the description of classes / practices / movement sessions to share (10-15 hours total over the course of 5 days) and the proposed performance / intervention (between 8 and 15 min.)

  • We are open to diverse, interdisciplinary and healthy practices for the body.

  • The classes / workshops / practices will not generate an income but will charge a low public fee to cover the expenses of the studio.

  • Works can be unpublished or not.

  • Name and description of the proposed movement practice or workshop you would like to share * (5 days, 10-15 hours total)

  • Name and duration of the performance work / piece / intervention to be presented to the public in Pocoapoco. *. (2m x 2m stage or alternative spaces within the house. 8-15 minutes total.)

  • Please include relevant videos of both your workshop and performance proposal.
